‘Grey Contours’ -the series of 100 Drawings is an attempt to work with the world — mostly real, often absurd in its constitution and always unfathomable in its breadth and depth. Thus the otherwise recognizable forms of human, animal and man-made objects are rendered unfamiliar. They are debased from their actual morphological structure and are subject to manipulation of the imagination stretching to its limit. My experience and understanding regarding nature, the raw essence of life of tribe Santhal, their affinity towards nature, their simplicity, the way of living all combines to form a visual harmony that takes up the physical form of artwork.
