A collaboration with Santhali children
Places :

Village Pearsonpalli, Santiniketan, West Bengal, India _ 2017
-
Tikoil & Harirapur, Nachol, Rajshahi, Bangladesh _ 2019
In this project I spent four months in the tribal Santhali village called Pearsonpalli in India (2017) and few days in Harirapur, Bangladesh(2019). I interact with the Santhali children during this process and they taught me to explore ourselves we don’t need much! Whatever we have around us we can create a language with it to express ourselves. We pick the available material like coloured mud, mixed with natural glue, make brushes with bamboo sticks, and use our arms as colour palate. We narrated conventional village stories on their mud house’s wall. This process allows us to communicate, to learn how they live and relate to nature.
