Once Upon a Land Called Brown

2025–Ongoing series | Archival ink pen on paper with acrylic colour and gold leaf | 30 x 21 cm
Once Upon a Land Called Brown begins with a return—to earth, to skin, to warmth. Brown appears not as a colour, but as a place where life gathers. A place where humans, animals, insects, and the land itself breathe together.
The work grows from a longing for closeness and care, at a time when both nature and human relationships feel distant and fragile. Forms emerge slowly, almost whispering, asking to be seen, touched, and held with attention.
What if brown is not dull, but alive?
What if the ground remembers us?
What if belonging is something we must relearn?
Moving like a quiet story, the work invites us to pause, listen, and rethink what we already know about nature, identity, and our place within a shared world.
